The inspiration for this piece came from a Gender and Society course I took back in the fall of 2020. The paper explores the idea of what an all-female college application looks like in today's world. Some all-female colleges, including a two of the Seven Sister Colleges (Vassar and Radcliffe), have transitioned to co-ed with in the past 50 years. The other five (Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Wellesley) have decided to remain all-female, but are now being asked to define the term women as it is important when accepting students, and attendance of transgender/gender fluid students.
